16th September 2006 Whitehall's season finally limped to an end today, and as much of the season it ended with a bit of a whimper, although they finally ended their run without a win. As Castlehill couldn't field a team.
10th September 2006 Whitehall fall to another defeat to Champions elect Old Mods, a poor batting display saw Whitehall limp to 84, and Old Mods romped home with 8 wickets in tact.
2nd September 2006 The game against Shipley was abandoned as heavy rain rendered the pitch completely unplayable.
26th August 2006 Whitehall battle to earn a hard earned point against title chasing Farsley. Farsley set a mammoth 270 in their 45 overs. Although both Bondy and Aidan claimed their first Whitehall wickets. And as Whitehall were 22-8 when Steve and Woody came together with plenty of overs to go. Steve and Woody put on a record 9th wicket partnership to see Whitehall nearly to the point, when Steve threw his wicket away, bringing Phil White to the crease, although Phil was dropped first ball Whitehall scraped through, after Woody survived a very very close LBW call from the games very final ball.
20th August 2006 the toss Whitehall were restricted to 95 before being bowled out, and Crompark just got to their target with 3 wicket to spare.
19th August 2006 Whitehall are dominating Baildon Meths, but unfortunately the weather beats Whitehall in the end as Baildon Meths, with Baildon in trouble 54-6
12th August 2006 Whitehall's baron run continues as the slump to only 74 before Old Mods win by 5 wickets.
5th August 2006 Whitehall lose to champions elect as Farsley reach the 133 set by Whitehall for the loss of 6 wickets.
29th July 2006 Whitehall lose for the second time on the spin as Old Mods manage to chase 195 with 2 wickets left.
22nd July 2006 Whitehall's winning run ends as Shipley Providence win by 8 wickets. Whitehall were dismissed for 89 with Simon scoring an unbeaten 26, but Whitehall fail to stop Shipley as Joe and Simon only take 1 wicket each.
19th July Club man Antony Petch was today celebrating as his girlfriend gave birth to their first child, Eleanor. I'm sure everyone involved with the club will want to pass on their congratulations and wish them all the best and we'll have a drink to celebrate as soon a possible.
15th July 2006 Whitehall finally click in the field, and more importantly Simon takes his first wickets of July as he ends with figures of 5-35, and Bhaven Mistri took 3 catches, to keep Cookridge to 94. Whitehall's chase is lead by returning Richard Francis who scored 38 runs, and Bob Finch completed the job with a quick fire unbeaten 20 to see Whitehall home by 5 wickets
8th July 2006 Whitehall reduced Crompark to 146 thanks to good bowling spells from Joe who ended with 4 wickets and Paul with 5. However Whitehall were reduced to 32-5 before Bhaven Mistri made 79 on his debut to guide Whitehall towards the win, Michael Wood chipped in with an unbeaten 26, and Anthony Petch scored the winning runs in a tense finish.
1st July 2006 Again Whitehall's early season fielding from is missing and Pudsey St Lawrence make 191 runs. However Whitehall set a new club Dales Council record in chasing the total and winning by 8 wickets Unfortunately Dean hurts his knee and could miss a few weeks.
25th June 2006 Whitehall's season seemed to crash and burn as they lose to basement club Castlehill. A long day in the field saw Castlehill amass 189 runs and Whitehall fell 70 runs short.
17th June 2006 Whitehall battled hard with the bat to get a losing draw in what was a disappointing day in deepest darkest Bradford. After Wibsey posted 251-5. In response Whitehall managed to hold out, and a wonderful partnership between Paul and Simon, Paul fell one run short of a deserved 50, much to the delight of the opposition. In the same game Martin suffered a nasty injury that could see him miss the rest of the season.
10th June 2006 Whitehall's season got back on track with a hard fought 2 wicket win over Shipley Providence. Shipley managed to get to 112, although after being 80 odd for 2 will be annoyed the didn't score more, the catalyst for Whitehall's come back was Chris spell of 5 overs which included 3 maidens and ended with 3 wickets for only 8 runs, Simon at the other end took 6-47. Whitehall's chase was well built and included gritty innings from Dunne, Bainbridge and Dockerty before Mace and Wood saw the job through. Report here.
4th June 2006 Whitehall crashed out of the cup today losing by 9 wickets at Becketts Park to squatters Halifax Direct. Whitehall only managed to get to 53. Dave Bond and Joe Bainbridge topped scored for Whitehall with 12 runs each. Halifax's response was only spoilt by a stunning catch from Tony Thompson of Phil White's bowling.
3rd June 2006 Whitehall today threw away the chance to place themselves in the middle of the title race with a 18 run defeat away to Farsley. Simon Mace took 7-37 with Joe Bainbridge chipping in with 3-33 to restrict Farsley to 105, however a string of poor shots and unlucky decisions meant Whitehall collapsed from 49-1 to 87 all out with the Wright family supplying the only players with double figure, Mick with 14 and Dean with 13. Find the full report here.
27th May 2006 Whitehall today claimed their second win of the season with a 4 wicket win over Castlehill. A game that could have gone either was throughout the afternoon, with both sides dominating periods of play. But thanks to a solid innings of 31, Mick Wright helped Whitehall home, aided by a quickfire 20 from Aidan Dunne and a streaky 18 no from Michael Wood. This followed a good bowling performance by Simon Mace, who ended with figures of 5-35, with Joe Bainbridge finishing with 3-26 and Chris Thompson was unlucky not to have a wicket after a good spell. The other 2 wickets were the result of run outs, 1 from Martin Palmer and a fielding point winning effort by Paul Dockerty. See the full report here. Next up for Whitehall is early season leaders Farsley, who beat Baildon Meths convincingly by 162 runs. Wibsey only managed a winning draw after failing to dismiss Shipley Providence in their game.
20th May 2006 For the 2nd week running our game has was called off. The pitch at Priesthorpe School, home of Pudsey St Lawrence was clearly unplayable and would have been very dangerous to play on.
18th May 2006 The 2nd round of the Pool Paper Mills cup has been made, and perhaps unsurprisingly we've been drawn away to our lodgers Halifax Direct. The tie will be played on the 4th June 2006, and will be at The draw in full:- New Farnley v Cookridge Crompark v Adel Esholt v Leeds Sikh Kirkstall Educational v Meanwood Pudsey Congs v Rodley Halifax Direct v Whitehall Baildon Meths v Castlehill Mount v Hawksworth
13th May 2006 Our game today was called off before any play could get underway after the Umpire had deemed the pitch unplayable. This decision seems even more ridiculous when you consider Baildon Meths B v Rodley were about to get underway after a short delay with the pitch all of 50 yards away, Shipley Providence B were playing Old Mods down by the canal, and on the other side of Bradford Wibsey were playing Farsley. You can't help thinking that we've lost out on 4 points so people could watch the cup final.
10th May 2006 We finally appear to have a date for the rearrange fixture with Crompark at Becketts Park, the game should take place on 16th July 2006 subject to league approval. The day before we play Cookridge also at Becketts Park.
8th May 2006 Also good news about the Cookridge game, we have got 2 points from the fixture rather than just the 1 as originally thought. This is because according to league rule 16a any game that has started and then has to be reduced due to rain, results in both teams getting 2 points and the team with the better run rate will receive an extra 2 points, so Cookridge took 4 points from the game. 8 points from our first 2 games against 2 strong sides is a very good start to the season.
7th May 2006 We now have a message board, hosted by some people called ProBoards, it looks pretty good, and fairly easy to use, it looks like you need to register to use it, but it only took me a minute to register so its not great effort. Mr Robert Finch suggested this feature for the website so all your thanks need to be given to him.
6th May 2006 Whitehall win their first game of the 2006 season with an excellent 6 wicket win over Wibsey Park Chapel. Joe took 7 wickets for 43 runs and Simon took 3 for economic 26 runs as we limited the early season pace setters to 74 runs. With the bat Dean scored a well constructed 25 before being unluckily given out LBW and Aidan chipped in with a useful 20 as Whitehall chased down Wibsey's score in a rain affected innings. Full report can be found here.
1st May 2006 It looks like we will have to play the rearranged game with Crompark at Becketts Park on Sunday 14th May. This is not confirmed yet and ill keep you posted.
17th February 2006 The 2006 Pool Paper Mills Cup First round draw was made, and for the 2nd year running we have been blessed with a bye into the 2nd round. The draw in full: Wibsey Park Chapel v Hawksworth Baildon Meths v Farnley Hill Old Modernians v Crompark Farsley v Mount New Wortley v Castlehill Pudsey St Lawrence v Meanwood Shipley Providence v Kirkstall Educational Byes: Rodley, Leeds Sikh, Cookridge, Pudsey Congs, Halifax Direct, Esholt, Whitehall, Adel and New Farnley.
