| Possibly the only player on the team who can play cricket without looking stupid and the only player who actually fits properly into his whites, with no flesh showing or wholes etc and possible the largest ego's in the league. After joining Whitehall in 2002, at the age of 14, and he has been the front line attack, terrorising opposition batsman, to the point of which they shit themselves (Or usually bowling wide half volleys). Paul also is a bit of a dab hand when it comes to batting. He doesn’t really have a set position as he is able to bat anywhere down the order. As he has proved scoring runs, showing up even the best of bowlers, in the league (Or in the real world throwing away his wicket when he looks like he's getting going). From the start large wickets halls and a low economy rate have been a major aspects of Paul’s game, to date been 6-19 against Farsley has been his finest hour. In the 2005 season Paul finish with 36 wickets with an average of 18.00 and an economy rate of 68.28. He also scored 172 at average of 13.23, with a top score of 45 although Paul will have been disappointed that he failed to get 50 that day against the eventual league champions, Leeds Sikh. After the 2004 season Paul was voted Yorkshire Evening Posts Dales Council Junior Player Of The Year. We still don’t know the reasons why as he had a pretty poor season. At the presentation of this award the young 16-year-old Paul stumbled up to collect his trophy pissed out of his face. After this the bar staff still didn’t click on that he was under age to drink. |
